SPIRIT DAILY RELEASES BOOKLET ADDRESSING ISSUE OF DEEP CLEANSING, HEALING OF FAMILIES

Few if any are the families that don't seem to have some kind of "familiar" problem. It could be illness. It could be emotional disorders. It could be financial. It could be a trend of depression or oppression or anger. Anxiety.

There are problems with addiction. Accidents.

Alcoholism may run in households – and through generations.

There may be repeated cases of divorce.

Are they merely the effect of upbringing, psychology, and genes -- or might there sometimes and even often be a hidden spiritual component?

These and other questions are tackled in a new booklet we are releasing, Life Missions, Family Healings, compiled at Spirit Daily by Catholic author Michael H. Brown -- who surveys the literature on the topic and presents an easy-to-read little manual on evaluating spiritual health and praying our way to freedom – perhaps from bondages and "curses" that have come down through the family tree and our lineages!

It is for our discernment. We recall the Bible statements about "sins of the fathers." But we also recall how Jesus readily cast darkness out of so many – and thus freed them of physical and other difficulties.

Are we also called to do the same? Is it part of our mysterious "missions" on earth? Can we and our children (and their children) benefit by purging past darkness?

Your mission is your destiny.

Based in part on the groundbreaking work of men like Dr. Kenneth McAll -- a Christian psychiatrist in the U.K. who found remarkable success in freeing families by having Mass conducted for their ancestry -- and the research of priests such as Father Robert DeGrandis and Father John Hampsch, who also speak from personal experience (as well as deep Bible scholarship) -- the booklet presents the simple idea that descendants can indeed be plagued -- sometimes severely -- by the "sins of the fathers." Past transgressions -- addiction, adultery, crime, abortion -- can manifest in mysterious ways and often require Mass for the souls of the unmourned in our families.

Controversial? Yes. Anything new is. And perhaps for a reason. It is always wise to discern. Not all problems and maladies are due to "sin" (past or present). Jesus Himself said this (John 9:1-3). Yet we can say that it can't hurt to pray for ancestors, way back to Eve and Adam.

There is the concept -- generational -- of original sin. There is the case where Jesus healed a man plagued from birth by seizures.

"The toxic effect of personal sin (in at least some cases) includes countless specific ailments of body, mind, and spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23), such as cancer, arthritis, depression, anxiety, lust, perversion, rape, terrorism, alcoholism, drug addiction, and contamination by diabolic forces of evil in endless forms," writes one of the priests. "Thus, personal sin reinforces and specifies the effects of original sin, and like original sin it has an 'inherited' component, though more limited -- namely, to three or four generations. Ancestral sin can be punished even to the tenth generation, as stated in Deuteronomy 23:2-3.

"All of this sounds dark and foreboding. Yet not all is bad. The first candle in the darkness is Noah (Genesis 6:8), with God protecting his little family tree: 'Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I found you righteous in this generation (Genesis 7:1)."

Have we ever stopped to think it may be a "mission" in life to cleanse ourselves and children so as to halt the passing on of intergenerational problems? Do we pray in that regard?

A mission this is -- and we all have one. In Heaven, we will see how important families are. We will be reunited. We will become acquainted with ancestors back to the very beginning. And we will find -- asserts this booklet -- that they cheer and pray us on because every step in cleansing the generations accrues to the benefit of every family unit as it moves closer to the Lord. In fact, as scholars point out, everyone on earth is related to the extent that no one alive is more than a nineteenth cousin!

Or so it is said.

And whatever is the case, priests have seen results when those afflicted pray, have Masses said, and go to Confession. Lent is a powerful time for all of the above! With fasting, we open new vistas. What freedom we -- and our loved ones -- can have!

Included in the booklet is a long, powerful prayer of deliverance recommended by an exorcist and focused precisely on cleansing intergenerational and personal problems.

Call it "spring cleaning."

Actually, it is more than that. It is lifetime cleansing. And with persistence, as well as faith, the results can be amazing.
