FROM THE MAILBAG: PILGRIM WONDERS IF SHE GOT A PREVIEW OF MEDJUGORJE 'SIGN'
[Note: we have been running a series on the "permanent sign" prophesied to appear at some future time at Medjugorje, the famous apparition site in Bosnia-Hercegovina. All we are told is that the sign will be permanent, will occur on Apparition Hill just outside of Medjugorje, and will be both beautiful and indestructible. A forerunner was reported to have been a supernatural fire that occurred on the hill in 1981. The sign is said to be in the seers' third secret, following warnings to the world. We have been reporting in-depth on Medjugorje because there has been an upsurge in both pilgrimages and reported phenomena, and from time to time we post letters about that phenomena. We submit the following, an account brought to our attention by one reader, for your own individual discernment]:
Hi Michael,
Sorry it took so long to answer. Of course it is okay to quote me. I
have been reading your Spirit Daily every day. I wish I had known about this when
it started. I missed a lot. It is so interesting. Especially about
Medjugorje. There is something else I want to share with you and I think it deals
with the apparition site where there will be forerunners before the great sign [see
another previous story]. I looked for that in your stories and I never saw it so I thought I share it
with you. I think it is a forerunner also.
I was in Medjugorje during the 17th anniversary of
apparitions. As I
began to do the stations of the cross on Apparition Hill, I noticed that my feet
were led by some supernatural force that I didn't have a hard time climbing the hill. I
was going pretty swift and my sister was wondering how come I didn't wait for her. I
told her, the Holy Spirit is doing that. Finally I passed the fifth station and was
heading towards the sixth station. I was stopped and was led to a particular large
rock. It must have been about three feet tall and it had a smooth service. I fell down
on my knees. I was wondering why. Then it appeared in front of me. The
image of the Virgin Mary.
I first saw the halo, then her face, then her dress
(grayish-blue) and
her white veil and her hands extended to her sides. Gee I thought, what a beautiful
painting someone did. My sister finally got to where I was and she asked, why
are you kneeling in front of a rock? This is not a station. I told her to
kneel down and I asked her to pray and tell me what she can see. She said, Oh the
Blessed Mother!
We were later told that there is no rock painted like that on
apparition
hill. Many people have told me they never saw that picture but I know that a
couple of other people have seen that image and even took a picture of it. I
saw those pictures and that is the same thing I saw too. It also has lots
of little angel heads all over the rock!
