Tower of Light, by Michael H. Brown, his most powerful book since The Final Hour -- a book of huge coming events. Focusing on two prophecies since 1990, Brown shows how world events, effects in nature, evil in society, and bizarre creations of man -- from synthetics to genetic manipulation of humans themselves -- are bringing us to an incredible tipping point in human history, the brink of fantastic change, a struggle that will involve an anti-christ, Jesus, and a coming mysterious manifestation. WITH ROILING CULTURE MATCHING ROILING WEATHER, 'PROPHETIC PULSE' PICKS UP SOME STEAM

Perhaps it's the time of year (plus all, culturally, that is swirling around, along with storms), but the prophetic pulse seems to be throbbing with extra vigor.

We had a special report recently on this issue and one person (a non-Catholic) who has gone a bit viral on the internet, warning of a number of events, from quakes in the West to a nuclear event in New York City.

As always, we urge tremendous circumspection with, but also scrutiny of, such predictions. It isn't alone. Years ago, an evangelical Christian named David Wilkerson, who operated a major ministry in New York City, before moving to Texas, warned that fire falling in New York was imminent.

That was back in 2011 (just before his death in a tragic car accident) so, again, take things cautiously. It was not so imminent. Yet, there is that pulse. More on this in an upcoming special report that will also review a recent new development to do with the reputed secrets of Medjugorje.

As one website explained, "David Wilkerson had a series of visions and angelic visitations from the Lord during his life time until his death in 2011, about the coming collapse of the U.S. economy and the destruction of America. In the economic collapse there will be riots and fires all across major cities in this nation. This will be a time of great apostasy and persecution in the Church like never before."

Back in 1973 he said much of that. He said there will be major attacks on environmentalists. There will be earthquakes. There will be famine. There will be floods and hurricanes. There will be a cosmic storm. Topless women will appear in television. X-rated movies will be on cable. Sex and the occult would be intermixed. There would be acceptance of homosexuality (as a "gift"). There would be homosexual ministers ordained, as pioneers. There would be nude dancing in churches. In 1992 he said that there would be a "thousand" raging fires in New York. Manhattan would come to a standstill. Tanks would rumble down our streets. L.A. would also have fires (though to a lesser extent). There would be violence and looting. An earth-shattering calamity is about to happen. It is going to be so frightening. We are all going to tremble, even the Godliest among us.

That was in 2009 when he said, "For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City.  It will engulf the whole mega-plex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut.  Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago in August, 1965. There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide. There will be looting — including Times Square, New York City. What we are experiencing now is not a recession, not even a depression. We are under God’s wrath."

Well, it's interesting, this concept of riots, and this sense of chaos, in light of the discord over matters such as the fellow choked to death in New York, and the controversy in Ferguson, Missouri. "Upheaval watch," we call it. We always have to ask ourselves, however: Do we really contemplate them and ask if we would want to see such things happen, or do we get too caught up in wanting to see something exciting? Think about how it would be for you or your children. Are we praying that things change in our society so that such events do not occur, at least not with such devastation?

Watch at the gates.

"Watchmen," as Scripture says (see Ezekiel 33). Let the scoffers beware:

Too much already has translated into reality -- somewhat more gradually than many expected, perhaps, but no less potently.
