A spiritual battle even in the womb?
Those who don't believe in generational factors -- in spirits that can haunt families, right from the womb -- might be wise to study certain ultrasounds.
For there are such photographs of pregnant women that seem to show -- may show -- a supernatural interaction before birth, good and bad, whether it's what seems like an image of an angel, the Blessed Mother, a deceased relative (watching over an unborn baby), or an evil visage (waiting its turn). A week ago, the latter surfaced in a tabloid called the London Mirror, one of England's leading newspapers.
And it is a bit sobering (left), so well-formed as to perhaps defy simple coincidental shadow formation, and also pareidolia (when the mind imagines seeing images in clouds and the like, in accordance with a person's orientation).
No, it seemed more; it seemed, frankly, like a principality-type of spirit watching over an infant and overseeing or waiting for its birth. We don't like to carry demonic visages -- images of darkness -- but this is too potentially informative to ignore.
The same paper had the photo, to the right, of what seems like a face. It declared this one to be an "angel's" face and also asked, about the one below, "Who Is This?"
In both cases, who knows? (It's not necessarily an angel's face, for sure -- and for your discernment.)
Meantime, last week the "Today Show" (1/6/16) carried a photo that first had been displayed (again) by the Mirror (at top) that clearly does seem angelic. It came from a woman named Kelly Lewis who sent them the photo as an "antidote" after being shown the demonic one. It was taken in 2012, and Kelly described the baby born to her, whom she named Harper (as in one who plays a harp), as a specially "blessed" child (of course many parents feel that way).
Other photos through the years have shown other indications that -- yes-- there is a spiritual interaction (and why wouldn't there be?) in the womb. (Below: Jesus? "An Argentinian woman, who said she had dreamed of Jesus Christ while pregnant, claims her ultrasound of her unborn child appears to show the face of the Messiah," reports the Mail (again, a tabloid) most recently -- for our purview.)
Whatever the validity of any single case, perhaps it makes it all the more important that expecting parents spend plenty of time laying hands on the abdomen and praying not just for health and a safe delivery (this is obviously important) but for spiritual health and an end to possible generational (familial) oppression (see Life Missions, Family Healing or Healing You and Your Family Tree). (There is also the devotion, in Saint Augustine, Florida, at North America's oldest Marian shrine, to Our Lady of La Leche, who under that title has been known to protect the unborn and assist in pregnancy and birth.)
In his January 3, 2016, address -- the Pope's first Sunday noon Angelus of the New Year, the Holy Father, paraphrasing the Book of Genesis (wherein we find the first parents), intoned, "Then the Lord said to Cain, 'Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it." Added Pope Francis, "It is the mystery of evil that insinuates [itself] into our lives, too, and that demands vigilance and care on our part so that it will not prevail."
