ACROSS NEW YORK STATE, SOME 'COINCIDENCES' SEEM LIKE A BIT MORE THAN JUST 'HAPPENSTANCE'

Do you believe in coincidence?

There are many coincidences, particularly across New York State. We visited there -- the "homeland" -- last week.

Start with 9/11, in lower Manhattan, at the extreme southeastern end.

Is it sheer luck that the site of the World Trade Center -- Ground Zero -- was once land owned by Saint Paul's Chapel, where George Washington and his cabinet, along with members of the first Congress, prayed immediately after his inauguration in 1789 for the consecration and protection of the new country? As in ancient Israel, transgression would later cause God to lift a hedge of protection.

The collapse of the towers also caused cracks in the foundation of Federal Hall -- where the Bill of Rights were devised and where Washington was actually inaugurated. Happenstance?

In Isaiah 9:10, Israel defiantly vowed to rebound after chastisement and to rebuild higher, to replace the fallen sycamore with stronger cedar when the bricks had "fallen."

A sycamore tree was blown down at Saint Paul's Chapel during 9/11; a brick was found in its roots; the tree was replaced by the "tree of Hope" (a type of erez tree or cedar).

Meanwhile, when Israel was chastised, it was often by Assyrians; Assyrians lived in what is now Iraq and their blood may well flow in the veins of modern terrorists like those of al Qaeda!

As for building better and higher: the Israelis used "hewn stone" to replace what was destroyed, and a twenty-ton stone -- a quarry or "gazit" stone (hewed from an upstate Adirondack quarry) -- was used as the cornerstone for the Freedom Tower that has replaced the Twin Towers (and is now the tallest building in New York, and will end up a bit higher than the Trade Center towers were!).

A coincidence is actually when two or more events occur at the same time in an "accident" that seems to have a connection.

God speaks in them.

He coordinates what is synchronous.

One might better say "luck": defined as a force that brings good fortune or adversity.

Is it a coincidence that during Hurricane Sandy, waves cascaded onto the Freedom Tower construction site -- or that last week a storm briefly halted completion of the skyscraper? "Windy conditions have prevented a 'topping out' of the spire atop One World Trade Center, the building being erected to replace the Twin Towers brought down in the Islamic jihad attacks of September 11, 2001," noted a news website. "The last two steel pieces of a 408-foot spire on top of the building were to be delivered Monday and installed then or Tuesday."

That was April 30, 2013.

"April 30 is the date of the founding of America as a nation-state – and its inaugural prayer, dedicating that founding,” author Jonathan Cahn notes. “April 30 is also the date of Lincoln’s national call to prayer and repentance."

Was it a coincidence that "Sandy" also shut down the Statue of Liberty for months? (The name Sandy comes in some derivatives from "Cassandra," which means "unheeded prophetess.")

Was it mere luck, one might further ask, that an earthquake centered in Richmond, Virginia, two years ago caused such a rattling up and down the East Coast that cracks formed in the Washington Monument -- and closed that monument as well?

Something is being spoken to America.

Are these all coincidences -- the very symbols of America, a nation that is allowing genetic manipulation, homosexual marriage, horrific abortion, and general immorality (even promoting it)?

On the morning of 9/11 was a headline on the front page of The New York Times about cloning and stem cells. A hedge of protection is lifting.

Coincidence, coincidence: is it a coincidence that when they found landing gear from one of the 911 planes (also last week) it was behind the site for a controversial mosque that is being built near Ground Zero (just two blocks from the Freedom Tower)?

Yes, a mosque. "The piece of equipment was discovered April 24 (2013) by surveyors inspecting the lower Manhattan site of a planned Islamic community center on behalf of the building's owner," according to reports. "The odds of this being wedged between there is amazing," said Paul Browne, a police spokesman, adding it was not surprising that it went undiscovered for more than a decade given the location. "It had to have fallen just the right way to make it into that space."

There are some very interesting coincidences, and they come in many sizes and various shapes.

Let's roll quickly to Upstate New York. Part of this region was once known as the "burned-over district," a religious scene in the western and central regions of New York in the early nineteenth century, where religious revivals of the "Second Great Awakening" took place.

Did you know there's a stretch along the Thruway near Rochester in the heart of this area where 1) Joseph Smith used a "crystal" device to find the supernatural, buried plates that were etched with what became the Book of Mormon in Palmyra, New York 2) that Spiritualism -- whereby mediums contact the dead -- was founded in Hydesville, which is just seven miles away 3) that this was heavy Indian territory, replete with burial mounds 4) that some believe it was initially said a deceased Indian had appeared to Smith 5) that it was likewise an Indian appearing to a Spiritualist medium who gave the instructions to found a second Spiritualist camp in Florida (Cassadaga, where every year they have what is called the "seat of Satan" and whereby one can supposedly sit on the bench and ask the devil for anything)?

Cassadaga is known for its violent thunderstorms. So is the area around the initial spiritualist community (Lily Dale) in Upstate New York.

That specific part of Upstate New York also was where American Freemasonry and Seventh Day Adventism in large part originated, and it is not so far away from where feminism has its roots (in Seneca Falls).

The founder of feminism, Susan B. Anthony, was famous for consulting Lily Dale mediums (not that equal voting rights are wrong; they are anything but wrong; however, the radical feminism that in some quarters evolved from it also came to be is another matter, blurring the genders: we see that fruit in our own time).

What goes around!

And now lastly -- at the extreme western end of the state, in Buffalo, to finish on the idea of synchrony -- is the Anchor Bar, where they invented the famous version of  deep-fried, spiced, cheese-dipped, celery-accompanied "Buffalo" chicken wings.

We all know the health effects of too much that is deep fried -- and how chicken wings are a national craze (right up there with hamburgers and potato chips on Super Bowl Sunday).

During recent trips we couldn't help but note that the Anchor Bar sits right next to a large new heart facility called Gates Vascular Institute [above left and right]

Coming from Gates, you take a left and go a single block. In fact, you could throw a good-sized stone from the hospital parking ramp and hit the restaurant.
