From 'Signs' In The Sky To Rumblings, One Thing We Can Know Is We Are Protected

Signs and more: it is time again, as it is every few weeks, to clear the prophetic docket, thick as it is with indications.

Week by week, month by month, year by year, events grow closer together and more intense. One has nearly to try not to see them.

We can start with Europe: just after Britain's Academy of Medical Sciences reported that scientists had created "thousands of examples of transgenic animals" carrying human DNA -- human-animal hybrids -- and sought passage of the "Draft Human Tissues and Embryos Bill," around the time a Church of England bishop was legally rebuked for asking a prospective employee if that employee had engaged in homosexual conduct, right after Britain's most celebrated author since Shakespeare released another torrent of Harry Potter (causing frenzied youth around the world to head for bookstores in the garb of wizards and witches), immediately after scientists requested a vast increase in what are known as "savior siblings" (or more shockingly, "spare-part babies," providing a tissue match for fully formed humans), the nation experienced its worst floods in modern times (since 1766), along with another outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease among farm animals. The last time that disease was publicly fretted about was a larger eruption in the wake of the first cloned sheep, "Dolly" (who later died in the outbreak).

Remarkable was the sight of so many homes -- along with the intellectual bastion of Oxford -- under murky brown water.

There were the rumblings and grumblings of nature (a small quake, and strange lights in the sky) -- as if in protest that the natural order is being dismantled -- while elsewhere in in Europe, thousands of tourists and residents were forced to flee ahead of "raging wildfires that have engulfed parts of the Canary Islands since the weekend, the latest in a string of bizarre, weather-related calamities to hit Europe this summer," noted The Washington Post last week.

"The Canary fires are the latest offspring of strange weather patterns that have buffeted Europe this summer, from unusually severe floods in England to chilly, fall-like weather in Paris, to searing heat waves, drought and wildfires in Southern and Eastern Europe," it added. "At one extreme, six mountain climbers reportedly died of exposure in three incidents last week when temperatures in the Alps unexpectedly plunged from fifty degrees to five degrees, French and Italian officials said."

Flames threatened the town where Benedict XVI was set to vacation, and fires raged behind Apparition Hill in Medjugorje in former Yugoslavia. A seer there orchestrated an effort to haul water up the hill and douse flames that threatened a statue of Mary and stations of the Rosary mysteries. Said one blog: "There have been some fires that have gotten quite close to homes. Several days ago, large billows of smoke could be seen coming from behind Apparition Hill, indicating that another large fire had broken out. Day by day the fire crept closer. Finally the flames could be seen licking the top of the mountain on Friday night, July 27th." As the report added, "everyone went to bed that night seeing the flames slowly progressing across the mountain towards Our Lady’s sanctuary."

A little over a year ago, in June 2006, around the 25th anniversary of Our Lady first appearing at Medjugorje, a pilgrim took the photograph to the right of the Blessed Mother's statue on that same Apparition Hill as he walked with a priest "along the dusty path that leads through the fields from the village of Medjugorje to Podbrdo.

"The result was unusual, to say the least. It seemed to show Our Lady’s statue on fire! Of course, this wasn’t the case, but as a result of unintentional multiple images caused by a long exposure. (It was dusk and the light was failing.)"

Back in the early 1980s there were other cases of mysterious "fires" that like the "burning bush" showed no real signs of combustion when firemen responded and were said by the Blessed Mother in one case to be a "forerunner" of a coming "great sign." Fire also figures prominently in the 1990 prophecy.

In China -- a nation that is further down the moral rung than Britain or the U.S. -- were gyrations between severe drought and severe flooding, the government acknowledging a major climate shift with unknown future consequences. The floods (in this country that is so hostile to the Christian way) displaced twenty million -- equivalent to the entire New York Metropolitan Area.

There are coincidences. "I'd like to mention that I notice that whether the Church acts on apparitions or not is almost irrelevant anymore," opined viewer Margaret Schaut of Michigan, who previously has informed us of genetic issues. "Time has sped to such a pace that almost no sooner does a phenomenon take place here or there, than the reason is made manifest by human/natural events. Black tears on the Pieta (at a statue store in Orlando): almost immediately wildfires burned in huge swaths in Florida. This event occurred within, what -- days, weeks, of the fires? When her warnings and human events converge, I think that something big will happen."

"There was an article that interested me about the so-called second sun that some people have claimed to see," wrote Lorenzo Church of Charlotte, North Carolina, of another alleged phenomenon. "I recall watching several months ago the sunrise as I was flying northbound and noticed what I thought at the time was an optical illusion known as a 'sun dog' just to the lower right of the sun. I have two sunscreens on the plane that help filter the sunlight, so I thought perhaps it was an effect from that.

"However, as I moved my head around, and played with the sunscreen, this object did not move or change shape. It was slightly smaller than the sun as well, and perfectly round.

"At the time, I thought nothing more of it until I read an article you posted. Then I started to look more carefully at the sun at different times of the day, always using the sunscreens, but I could not recreate the effect I saw before. The sun dogs I saw always moved when I moved my head, and any second sun that I saw was always the same size, and was clearly an optical illusion. It reminded me of what a few visionaries have mentioned about the warning event coinciding with a solar event. I will keep scanning the skies and continue to read your articles."

Sun flares? Tricks of the lens? That does occur. The signs come in ways that are as unverifiable as they are fascinating.

On the mystery of diminished honeybee populations and other vanishing animals that seem too like omens, one writer said, "Last night, before our parish's confirmation service, they found three honeybees in the sanctuary and took them outside. This morning, they found 36 dead honeybees in the sanctuary.  No precedent. No explanation. In southern Indiana. Ironically, today, St. Meinrad Archabbey is giving an afternoon workshop on how to keep bees!"

Added another: "Regarding bees -- look to the original Hebrew. The name Deborah (Devorah) means 'The Bee' in Hebrew. There is a connection to the name with regard to the root word devar in Hebrew. The root word signifies order, God's order in His Creation."

"Seems like it’s an accepted tradition that God has granted control over the elements, including weather, to angelic spirits – also to bad angels, in varying degrees, when it comes to violent or destructive storms," noted a viewer named Ray. "If this is true, then it makes perfect sense that (1) God uses lightning to punctuate His sentences at precise moments of spiritual significance, and (2) that we are at times preserved from harm due to weather by prayer and the use of blessed salt or Holy Water. Since reading an article from a link on Spirit Daily last May about other nasty stuff falling from the sky, I’ve gotten into the habit of reciting Psalm 91, and encourage others to do the same. Check it out, if you haven’t already:

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, 'My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!' For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may seek refuge..."

We are not defenseless against chaos, natural or otherwise. Terrorism? They keep saying there are signs of an approaching attack but instead of hiding we need to march forward in prayer. Some report what they saw as powerful results when using such things as blessed salt. Sprinkle it around New York. Sprinkle it around places of evil.

"Reading your lead article [on blessed salt] triggered my husband to remember an incident that happened north of Green Bay in the mid 1980s," noted Carole Hummel. "An 'adult' bookstore that would have all the traps of the devil was opened on Highway 41- 141 in Abrams. A very holy woman who lived across the street went with a friend and entered the store.

"They hid Miraculous Medals and Green Scapulars and then left. Several weeks later, the store burnt to the ground; never did find the reason. And the store was never replaced."

"I think we are running out of time for warnings such as Fatima, where the Church had the benefit of decades to figure it out," added Margaret Schaut. "And Our Lady must, by necessity, now show up just before major catastrophes in the hope that people are noticing and listening."
