THE RADIANCE AND MYSTERIES OF HEAVEN
There's further feedback from articles we have run on encounters with angels and also experiences in chapels of the Blessed Sacrament.
A rarefied atmosphere there is, with touches of Heaven, with messengers, in front of Our Lord in the Host.
Angels are always fascinating to contemplate. They present a glow, a radiance, in our lives. Often they manifest that radiance through our faithful religious (nuns, priests, bishops, as seen in the radiance above; contemplate angels more we should, especially in our times). At any rate:
"I have one incident
that always puzzled me," wrote Rene Lynch, who at the time lived in
Brooklyn, New York. It occurred about
twenty years ago.
"I went for a hike to a very high waterfall
in Upstate New York. We climbed up and
around. There were a few other people hiking -- it's a nice spot. You have to
put your car in a little parking lot and start hiking and its pretty
rugged terrain, so you have to hold on most of the way up mountain and
basically
claw your way up.
"When we came down the mountain
there was a stream and there suddenly appeared about twenty very beautiful young nuns
walking two-by-two dressed all in white! They were wearing those big flying nun-type hats in
white -- all in white -- and the girls were beautiful, tall, and flawless: blond,
blue-eyed, and with red cheeks and red lips.
"Now, seeing just one nun of such beauty would be unusual.
But twenty or so?
"They
looked at nobody and just kept walking, looking straight ahead, and
started towards the waterfall through rugged terrain.
"All of us hikers just stared at them then looked at each other
... in confusion! You could tell what everyone was thinking. How could you have so many beautiful young nuns all
looking the same -- blond, light, tall, thin, in white; and how did they get
there? Where was their vehicle?
"Nowhere did we see a bus or van. So many nuns all
in these strange sort of ... outdated nun outfits walking up a waterfall!
"I
said to my friend, 'So what did you think of that?' Dead serious he said,
'I think they were angels.' Hey it's possible they were just nuns. But they all were so pretty, same
height -- tall,
and looking very similar in white. It still bugs me!
"Where did they all come from. Nobody saw them walk up or drive
up; they were just there!
"Did I see angels?"
Perhaps! There are many questions that will only be
answered when we have left the confines of this physical world.
"I loved your article about
Adoration," wrote another,
Elizabeth Pomfred of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. "I have been praying with our Lord
during my assigned hour of Adoration since March 2001. Our parish has had
Perpetual Adoration since that time. I pray the Rosary, read my Bible, sit,
and talk to my Lord Jesus. I know He is with me by the peace I feel when
I'm there. My husband recently started attending the hour with me. We
will often go to the altar and kneel before Him together. A few weeks ago
we did just that. No one else was in the chapel at the time. I was
telling Jesus how happy I was to be with my husband before Him. I was
reflecting on my love for my husband and how grateful I was to have him in
my life.
"The
more I stared at the Eucharist with love in my heart, the clearer
His Face became.
"Continuing
to be unsure, without taking my eyes away, I said to my husband,
still kneeling next to me, 'Do you see Jesus' face?' And he replied
that he did. After we left church he told me that it also became
clearer to him as he focused on the Eucharist. I felt so honored
that Jesus did this for both my husband and me! It made me really
understand the depth of His love for my husband and me and for our
marriage. He has His own special blessings to offer each and every
one of us. He truly knows our hearts and love for Him."
Wrote another
viewer, Donna Kessler: "About twenty years ago or so when I went
to Adoration and looking at the
Host, a mist formed and became bigger until it filled the whole altar
and beyond. I took off my glasses and rubbed my eyes and cleaned my
lenses. Then I looked at the Host again and it happened again. But
when I looked just a speck away from the Host everything became clear
again. So I tested this again and again and a mist forms every time I
go to Adoration even to this day."
"All of a sudden, as I looked at the Eucharist, I could see Jesus' face. I
was in disbelief so I started to move my head thinking it was shadows
based
on my position. But I never took my eyes off Him.
One last viewer, Karen Daniels, of Waldorf, Maryland, says:
"This isn't about an angel but an experience in church in 1993.
"The pews were in the shape of a cross. My husband, two sons, and our future daughter-in-law were seated on the right side of the church facing across to the other side. Our pastor's homily was about the difference between Faith and Belief.
"When the homily started I told Jesus He didn't have to show me anything. I believed. While Father was speaking, directly across from us, on the other side of the church, there appeared -- on the confessional door, in a cloud -- the hewn rock table where Jesus was laid to rest. It was in varying shades of gray and white. So beautiful I can't describe it!
"I know you asked about angel experiences but this came vividly back to my memory and felt I should send it to you."
Clouds.
Mist.
Glows.
The media of Heaven.
