Notes From All Over As A New Message From Medjugorje On Devil Stirs Interest

By Michael H. Brown

We warned that it's the serious time of the year, and now, from Washington, New Jersey, comes word that a fire has broken out in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. It happened last week at this place operated by what is known as the Blue Army and dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima. From the candles, or an electrical malfunction? So far the blaze is of unknown origin. We're told it erupted around 3 a.m. last Friday, and this is always peculiar to us. We're constantly running into significant events occurring at this hour. The events are both good and bad. There are bad events like the fire and attacks by the devil at the same time that others report holy experiences during this stroke of the clock.

We've heard many explanations for why this happens. Obviously, three a.m. is the inverse of 3 p.m. -- the hour of mercy, the hour Jesus expired. Some believe it is thus an hour to plead Divine Mercy. Others believe that 3 a.m. bears potency because it's the hour that Christ resurrected. Still others point to the period of midnight to three a.m. as the time during which occultism takes place -- that at three a.m. evil spirits are released as rituals of satanism and witchcraft culminate.

Our own take is that for some reason three a.m. is a moment during which the veil between here and the hereafter, between ours and other worlds, is thinnest, allowing for an interaction with forces that are both light and dark.

Either way, it is an hour that cries out for prayer.

The fire at the shrine, by the way -- and praise God -- never got to the tabernacle.

Meanwhile, at Medjugorje in Bosnia-Hercegovina the day before came the monthly apparition to seer Mirjana Dragicevic Soldo, who said that Mary gave what we can only describe as an especially potent message. Mirjana long has been the visionary with the most serious messages -- once encountering an apparition of satan, who was only dispelled by the immediate intercession of the Blessed Virgin -- but it has been a while since she has dispensed messages with the kind of gravity recorded last week.

"Dear children, give me your hearts completely," said Mary on October 2. "Allow me to take you to my Son, Who is the true peace and happiness. Do not allow the false brightness that is surrounding you and being offered to you to deceive you. Do not allow satan to reign over you with the false peace and happiness. Come to me, I am with you."

It has been at least three years, since 2000, that we have seen a message from the famous apparition site that is this serious. Back then, another seer, Marija Pavlovic Lunetti, recorded a message in which satan was described as "unchained," meaning that we are in a time when he is especially roaming about. Don't get us wrong: in the early days of Medjugorje, many messages pertained to the devil's influence -- even saying that now is "the hour of the power of darkness."

But there were still many interesting and even unique aspects to the latest message. Especially stark was the mention of "false brightness." We should all meditate on what this is and how the devil offers it to all of us and our entire society. What would Jesus call "false"? What is it that we strive for? It also reminds us of a reputed seer in Canada who said the Lord described satan as the "shining darkness."

At the same time, there was the dramatic mention of a "false peace" (an illusion to Iraq and the Mideast?) and false "happiness."

It seems plain that the Blessed Mother was telling us not to buy into the idea that things like September 11 are behind us -- nor to fall into false happiness in our private lives.

This is not to make us fear. It is to grant us the truth, which sets us free.

With freedom comes the joy of deliverance!

Yes, it's that time of year. Expect more soon. And expect this website, which always accents the positive, nonetheless to take up some pretty weighty issues in the days ahead.
